Family

That word has really been rolling around in my head a lot lately.

What does it mean to an infertile?

What makes a family?

Does a family involve children?

Are Grumps, Itsy and I a family?

At church Christmas Eve the pastor said, "Go home to your family and remind your children about the real reason for Christmas." I know he wasn't thinking when he said those words. I know he didn't think, there are many here who do not have children. But he said those words. I began to cry. I couldn't' t go home and tell my children about the real reason for Christmas. The words that were meant to up life and encourage cut like a knife.

I hope I can call my little life and household a family. It just doesn't seem to fit.

Yes, you are a family! And, I think pets count as family. . . . with the death of our kitty, it sure feels like we lost a family member.
I'm still convinced your family will grow soon! And your child will be blessed because he/she will feel so loved and wanted after this long horrible wait.
In the meantime, remember when your family feels small, you have the rest of us in God's BIG family. Love you Sunny!

Yes- you are a family! A small family, but yes, definitely a family. After children are grown and out of the house, you'll be back to the two of you. Are you no longer a family after that?

I have come to loathe the phrase "trying to start a family." I know what people mean by it, but it is not an accurate description.

Pets for sure count as family. Jackson is my baby and I love him more than words can describe. I even take him to Christmas dinner at my grandma's. LOL!

I think you should talk to your pastor about how hard those words hit you. Not as an acusation to him but for him to help you know the true meaning of family.

You may have children of your own, you may adopt, you might not have kids, but you still have a family.

Of course you are a family- maybe not exactly how you want it to be right now- but precious nonetheless x

You are a family right now, and you have been since you were married. I think there are all kinds of families ... couples, couples with children, parent and child, single person and close friends, man and dog. Whatever works for your situation. Don't underestimate the power of two. You are a team, a unit, a family, able to band together, support each other, and create whatever kind of life you desire.

Everyone gets to make their own definition of "family." It doesn't necessarily have to include blood relatives or even humans.
One of my children is four-legged and furry. I don't have any female siblings, but there are several women in my life that I consider to be my sisters.
You three are a family.

I think that a family is more than one person who decides to be a family! But I am encouraged that soon, you will have an addition because you are taking great strides! Praying that it will be sooner rather than later.
